RIP: Liesbeth Perdeck
She just passed away during a tragic car accident in Tegue. Her car was hit by train when she was crossing the train railway. Her car was dragged for more than 400 meters and burned till death.

The complete news you can read here and here.

My question is, why her?

She is the only teacher that knows exactly how to call me without my full name. She was the only teacher that called me when I got chicken pox. She was the only teacher that understand my anxiousness and keep telling me to use that feeling to do better for a presentation. And she is the only teacher that let me know which my weak point and also support me to overcome that.

Liesbeth Perdeck, may you rest in peace. :(

I know if you read this, you'll say: "Ardhoo, your englishhhhh". Thanks for all!

UPDATED:

I got news from school intranet about her memorial.
This Saturday the Hogeschool received the shocking news that our colleague, Liesbeth Perdeck and her father had both been killed in a tragic accident on Thursday 21 May, in Teuge.

Liesbeth had worked for since august 1990, for almost all of which she was a founding and dedicated member of what is now the IBMS team in Diemen. Her colleagues are finding it hard to imagine being without her absolute commitment to the program, the students and her team members.

We send our deepest-felt condolences to her family, family as they try to come to terms with their devastating loss.

Room C1-10 is being used as from today as a remembrance room where you can sit in silence in memory of Liesbeth and write something in the condolence register. On Thursday 28 may there will be a memorial meeting at 16.00 hours in the Auditorium (Wildenborch).

The farewell service for Liesbeth and her father will take place on Wednesday 27 May at 16.00 hours at Crematorium Moscowa, Waterbergseweg 18 in Arnhem.

Yours sincerely,

Petra Hoogerwerf,

Dean School of Economics Amsterdam/Diemen

It is wonderful to read Liesbeth touched your life. Treasure that memory, and carry it with you for the rest of your life and may that continue to inspire you to use what you find challenging to do better.
She sure was a very special lady, and will continue to live on by how she inspired so many people.
And I keep hearing her say: it is okay, you know....it is okay.....

Thank you Ardho for your post. Liesbeth's death is so tragic. I am glad you liked Liesbeth as a teacher so much. I used to work as a teacher at InHolland until 2001, and Liesbeth and I shared many good times together. She helped inform my teaching and I still to this day use materials that she and I developed together. The world is a smaller place without her. All good wishes, Dr Mieke Witsel in Australia.

I donnt know if you know me, but we have her as our teacher in common. Liesbeth was a very nice and dedicated teacher I known. She helped me a lot during my study at InHolland. I was a shocking news to me even I've graduated for three years now. Ms. Perdeck, may you rest in peace.
